Who the Club Is For

Our club is open to adults and juniors alike. Beginners are supported and encouraged, while more experienced players can enjoy regular competitive games, league chess, and opportunities to test and develop their skills.

Club Nights

We meet on Monday nights at The Lyppard Hub, Warndon Villages, from 19:30 to 21:30. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome to come along, watch, and have a game. Visitors are welcome at £3 per night. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided free of charge.

A Typical Club Night

Equipment and Facilities

A typical club night includes a mix of friendly games, informal coaching, analysis, and competitive practice. Members are free to play at their own pace, whether that means a casual game, preparing for league matches, or taking part in internal competitions.

All standard chess equipment, including boards, pieces, and clocks, is provided by the club. Members are also welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer.

Juniors (U18's)

We aim to create a positive and respectful atmosphere for both junior and adult players. Juniors are supported in their development, and all members are encouraged to play in a friendly and sportsmanlike manner.

Currently, juniors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. To view a copy of our safeguarding policy, contact our Safegaurding Officer Colin Vernon (enhanced DBS clearance) on info@warndonchessclub.co.uk

This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations and promotes a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment. It ensures accountability, protects our club’s integrity, and supports a positive experience for all members. Click the button to view >>
