Code of Conduct
Respect All Members – No trash talking, personal insults, or disruptive behaviour.
Adherence to Laws of Chess – All games follow FIDE rules unless otherwise stated.
Phones on Silent – Mobile phones must be silenced during games and coaching sessions.
Open Challenges – Open challenges to a rated game, for the avoidance of rating preservation, challenges cannot be declined without a valid reason,.
Default Loss – Players who fail to show for a scheduled game forfeit the match.
Sportsmanship – Shake hands before and after each game.
Timely Arrivals – Arrive on time for matches, tournaments, and coaching sessions.
Board and Equipment Care – Handle boards, clocks, and pieces with care.
Quiet Play Areas – Keep noise to a minimum in playing and study areas.
No Cheating – All games must be played without outside assistance or chess engines.
Dispute Resolution – All disputes are resolved by the club captain or appointed arbiter.
No Bullying or Harassment – Intimidation, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
Spectator Conduct – Observers must remain quiet and avoid interfering with active games.
Inclusivity – The club welcomes players of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds.
Feedback & Suggestions – Members are encouraged to provide constructive feedback to improve club activities.
